Former Sony-exclusive dev calls time on its FPS series.
Insomniac has revealed that it won't be making any more games in the Resistance series, as it moves on to focus on new IPs working across multiple platforms. Speaking to VG247 today at the Game::Business::Law summit, Insomniac CEO Ted Price confirmed the company's departure from the franchise.
“We won’t be making any more Resistances,” he said.
Insomniac announced their first multi-platform title in June last year, bringing an end to the developer's exclusive relationship with Sony.
This of course doesn't mean the end for Resistance as an IP, though.  Resistance: Burning Skies, currently in development over at Nihilistic Software, is set for release on the Vita this summer.
Insomniac is now focusing on four-player co-op shooter Overstrike, the details of which are still being kept close to the chest.
